glass.txt I was walking through a hallway in my school. This hall had a massive door with a window in the middle of it which seperated the staircase from the corridor. There was a steady flow of students, so the door was constantly being held open. I was putting my hand onto it so it wouldn't smash into me as I was going through the doorway, however, a combination of me using too much force and the wind being particularly strong that day resulted in me smashing my arm through the glass. Funnily enough, despite there being blood everywhere, after blanking out for a couple of seconds, the first things I thought about were that my parents would be pissed and that we'd have to cover the cost of replacing the glass. Only then did I realize I was bleeding and that I had smashed my arm through the glass all the way to my elbow. I didn't feel any pain and I was thinking that maybe it wasn't so bad -- I wanted to run off before anyone noticed it was me who broke the glass so I wouldn't get scolded by anyone. I decided I should probably at least get some bandaids, so I headed off to the nurse's office. I was very cool headed and, when I opened to door to the nurse's office and saw someone else was in there, I just closed the door and sat down so I could wait for my turn. Around half a minute later a school staff member ran up to me because she'd heard the glass shatter from her office, urging me to quickly get to the nurse. I sat down and was confronted by the fact that my arm was seriously cut up. The nurse felt uneasy when she saw the cuts. Both my mom and an ambulance were called. The ambulance came and my mom came, but since they could only take me to the local hospital for free, my mom decided to drive me to the better hospital in the big city herself. When we were walking through the hall to get to the car, there was a path of blood I'd left behind. I had a pretty deep wound on one of my fingertips and a very deep wound on my forearm, so I couldn't write for a couple of weeks and had to be operated on. I have an 11 cm long scar (4.3 inches or 0.0012029746281715 football fields for my American readers) because of the incident. The school had to put up warning signs on the door so no one else would get hurt there. A lot of people saw my immediate reaction to getting cut up (which was non-existent), so I got a badass reputation.
