I was very bored and eating a pomegranate one day. I was thinking about shitposting and once I opened up /ck/ (4chan's cooking board) it was as if God descended from Heaven to bestow an idea upon me: I would make overly specific semi-regular threads about pomegranates. It's not that funny once writing it out, but it was very funny in my head and even funnier in practice.

The OP looked like this: the title of the post was something like "/pg/ - Pomegranate General #0003" (I always used four digits for the post number because it implied that thousands of pomegranate generals were bound to be made). The content of the post included an introduction paragraph, a random fact about pomegranates I stole from a top 10 list and resources for more information regarding pomegranates. The image attached would be either a random pomegranate pic off the first page of Google search results or a pic I took myself.

I ended up making a total of seven threads over the course of a few days, most of which got a decent number of replies. Surprisingly enough, about half of the replies were serious posts about growing pomegranate trees, eating the "white lizard skin", serving poms, etc. I usually replied to those posts with some random bullshit to create the illusion that the generals were serious. The other half of the replies was either people who were very pissed off or defending me for some reason.
